This is a type of X-ray imaging that uses a cone-shaped beam to create three-dimensional (3D) images of the teeth, jaw, and other oral and maxillofacial structures. CBCT images can be used to diagnose and plan treatment for a variety of dental conditions, including:

The amount of radiation exposure from a CBCT scan is typically much lower than the amount of radiation exposure from a CT scan.
